sila
In a hospital in the middle of Kreuzberg, the first capillary
roots of my then newborn child started to sprout. Sila was the
name we gave to the little being with the tiny fingernails.
For the Inuit, the term 'sila' describes the cosmological concept of
being, of wind, earth, space. I only discovered this fact some time
after Sila's birth.
Without exception all photographs in my work SILA were taken with
a smartphone.
